"...even what is bitter tastes sweet."
I haven’t really made the time to blog this year because I’m constantly on my facebook, twitter, and pinterest accounts, but that’s about to change because we now have to blog for English class. I’m rather excited because I’ve missed posting on tumblr!
I remembered I needed to do this while I was sitting here reading my Bible, so I’m gonna share a...

Caylee Anthony.
I’m disgusted by the celebration in the court room over the outcome of this trial. Smiles, hugs, giggles and cheers.. Where is the justice? Have they forgotten about the precious baby whose remains were found in a bag..? Duct tape still pressed across her skull…? One mother may walk free today with a smile on her face, but God was with that baby in the trunk of that car, and I...

And to think I've been worried about the pollen in...
So I was on my way home from AB Tech today, just cruising along, brain dead from the previous 4.5 hours of algebra and chemistry, and just sorta thinking about how lucky I was to still have my car in one piece after a woman driving a tractor-trailer had almost taken me out that morning. And well after passing 12 bones and practically crying because of good it smelled and how hungry I was, I...

Favorite Freshman Year Experience.
So as everyone knows thanks to facebook, twitter, and oh yea.. the news, that our troops got Osama yesterday. I don’t know about anyone else, but it kind pisses me off that he was in a mansion instead of under a rock, but anyways… Word spreads fast, and let’s just say people got excited.. Really excited. Here at ASU within the first 20 minutes, people were outside screaming,...

Dreams.
I recently had to write an isearch paper for English, and because I’ve become interested in precognitive dreaming lately, I decided I’d look into that to see if there was in fact any evidence that it is real. Of course there is not, but something I did find interesting while I was researching is the fact that biologically, it’s thought that our dreams exist to prepare us...

Death. A very natural thing that feels incredibly...
So I just wanted to take a moment to talk about the realization that I had tonight.
Death is not natural to us.. You would think it would be considering we’re exposed to it all our lives. It may start with the death of your goldfish. Then it’s the death of your hamster, followed by your dog. We see it on tv, we read about it in books, we hear stories about it from our friends,...
Where Im From
The first assignment in my English class was to read the poem “Where I’m From” by George Ella Lyon and write our own poem in response. Let me just say.. I don’t do poetry. Or at least I never have in the past. I guess I just haven’t ever worked with it much, so I was very apprehensive about submitting this. My professor like it though, and told me to consider...
“I’ll sing it one last time for you, and then we really have to go…” Does anyone else love the song Run by Snow Patrol as much as I do? Kinda depressing, but still one of my favorites.
Today has been a long day. It was wonderful for the most part with the exception of the weather.. It’s been pretty rainy the last couple days in Boone. I was explaining to some...

To dream like I do...
So I know I say I’m tired… a lot. And I take a lot of crap for it. But honest to goodness, the things I do and see in my sleep every night when I’m dreaming are ridiculous. It’s often physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. They say that REM sleep (the period of sleep in which you dream) “renews the body and renews the mind.” But when you have...

It's gonna be in the 30's the next couple days!...
Dear Mother Nature,
I know you and I are not on the best of terms at the moment and haven’t been for quite some time, so it’s probably not a good idea for me to say anything, but I can’t resist. What is up with the weather? I mean yes, I’m aware that it is now December, but don’t you think you’re a little overzealous with the winter thing? Snow is one...

The leaves are falling fast.
So it’s pretty chilly today. I heard it was in the 30’s this morning, and I have to admit I’m not exactly looking forward to the cold weather. It’s really sunny though which is nice after getting quite a bit of rain this past week. It’s just the wind that’ll get ya. It’s rather gusty. Here’s a picture that I took with my phone from the third...
I'm so ready for fall break.
So this has been a rough week, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve injured myself a lot lately. Like last week, two nights in a row, I stabbed myself in the eye with my fingernail while I was sleeping…. same exact spot! Two days later, Madisson was washing the outside of our boxfan in the shower, and I didn’t notice that she’d left a trail of water behind.. I slipped and...
Do not neglect the gifts that have been given to...
So this past weekend was hilariously and awesomely amazing. Friday, when I got out of class, I walked (basically ran) back to my dorm, grabbed my car keys, and hopped on the bus. I was soo excited to be driving home again, and man, was it nice drive. All the leaves up here are really starting to change colors, and the sky is incredibly blue. Friday evening, I picked up Cory, and we headed...
Dang, it's been a while!
Sooo… I’ve been pretty super busy lately. It’s been awesome though. I don’t even know where to begin explaining all of the recent events…
It sure has felt like fall lately! Well, actually that’s a lie.. It hasn’t. Last week was too cold to be fall-ish. It was in the freaking 30’s several nights in a row. You should see how many...

"Rain is a good thang."
I know yall are probably getting tired of all these posts, but stuff just keeps on happening that I feel like I should be sharing. I don’t even know where to start today… All I know is I have a lot of homework and laundry that needs to be done.
Well, at any rate.. walking to the library yesterday, I almost got run over by a bunch of sweaty basketball ball guys. I mean...
AppalCART=Sketch
So here in Boone, they call the local bus system AppalCART. It’s free for all the Watauga Country residents, and there’s a bunch of different routes that will take you pretty much anywhere you need to go. Well, I’ve never really like the idea of bus hopping, but I guess in a small college town with very limited parking, it makes things a lot simpler. I decided I was going...
Wake me up when September ends.
August ended with a bang. Last Friday, I got to see the boyfriend, the best friend, and the best friend’s boyfriend for the first time in almost two weeks, and as if just getting to see them wasn’t fantastic enough, we all went to see Brad Paisley in Charlotte. It was absolutely amazing… Thank you Luke and Cory for making all my dreams come true. :] And for the record, I...

First Day of Classes!
I definitely just got back from my first class… My professor is absolutely wonderful. She’s one of the sweetest staff members I’ve met so far. Well, to be honest, I haven’t met a staff member yet that I haven’t liked, so it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of my professors are.
Our dorms may be small, and our community bathrooms may be creepy,...
Home is where the heart is.
I’ve settled in quite well. I’m absolutely loving the college life so far. The freedom, the opportunities, the endless chances to meet new people… It’s all wonderful. And of course, we’re nestled away in North Carolina’s beautiful mountains. You’d think after being born and raised in the Blue Ridge, I’d be immune to the awesomeness of these...
Back at the bottom of the totem pole, eh?
As a kid, you always dream about what it’s going to be like when you get to college, and it honestly feels like a day that will never come. Everyone always tells you how much your life will change, and how those will be the best four years of your life, but none of it seems realistic… until you get here.
Alright, so get this.. I went to a small (when I say small, I mean...
